His eyes were like moonstones, exotic and beguiling. They contrasted with his dark complexion, giving him a striking and penetrating gaze. Looking into those eyes, I felt the world dim in comparison; there was nothing else other than those molten silvery eyes. I suddenly noticed a spark of amusement glow in his eyes as he realized I was staring. He smirked, and I felt myself tremble. His eyes pierced my soul and I was momentarily bewitched by their depth. They were like gems, smoky and absolutely mesmerizing.

Withering Hope is a sensational love story about Amie (bride-to-be) & Tristan (private jet pilot) who crash landed in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. Layla Hagen takes us through a journey of tears and hope, as Amie & Tristan struggle to survive and make it through until they’re rescued!
This is my first Layla Hagen book and I have to say, I’m more than just impressed! This book broke my heart! It’s definitely one of my favorites! I have to say that not many books make me cry, and this book was so well written and it was so sensational and breathtaking that I found myself crying more than once (and they were ugly tears)! It’s definitely one of those books you wish would never end!
I loved Amie & Tristan! I loved how they worked together in order to survive! I’ve read a lot of survival kinda books, it’s always the alpha male who takes control and protects the heroine! Amie was a strong heroine and definitely one of my favorites!
“Tristan slipped into my soul the way mist travels in the forest after the rain: Unseen, unstoppable, and ubiquitous.”
There’s something very addictive about this book, I just couldn’t stop.. I just needed to finish it and see what happens in the end! There’s nothing usual about this book! It’s very unique and it just pushes it’s way into your heart! It’s a must read!
What I found unfortunate was the second epilogue! I just had to say this! I felt that the second epilogue was quite unnecessary really! I felt that it just took away a bit of this book’s perfection! However, that’s just a matter of personal taste! I still am very much in love with this book!
“My peace carries her smell and sounds like her voice.”
